DWCC Book Club – April 2025
April 29 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm
What we’re reading and discussing this month:

“Fascism [is] the work of a woman who knows authoritarianism when she sees it. And she sees the seeds of it not only in a slew of leaders hell bent on subverting democratic norms—Turkey’s Erdogan, Venezuela’s Maduro, Hungary’s Orbán, and others—but also in Donald Trump, whom she calls in the book ‘the first antidemocratic president in modern U.S. history.’” — The Daily Beast
Message from DWCC Book Club Chair, Renee Bumbaugh:
This month’s book is “Fascism: A Warning” by the late Madeline Albright. Written during Donald Trump’s first “reign,” it was the Secretary of State’s effort to inform us of what she had experienced firsthand while growing up in Eastern Europe. Katie and Carol will lead us in this very timely discussion.

You are welcome to bring a small appetizer, and Charlotte will prepare a simple dessert. Thank you, and see you on the 29th.
