NCDP Welcomes EPA Administrator Michael Regan to North Carolina In Effort to Get More North Carolinians Vaccinated

The Biden-Harris Administration launched the “We Can Do This” campaign from June 4 – July 4 to get more Americans vaccinated

Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Michael Regan today is taking part in the Biden-Harris Administration’s “We Can Do This” Month of Action campaign, an all-of-America sprint to get more Americans vaccinated before July 4, by traveling to Raleigh and Charlotte to encourage more North Carolinians to get vaccinated and lead grassroots mobilization on vaccine education and outreach efforts.

The Month of Action is a nation-wide tour to reach millions of Americans who still need protection against the coronavirus ahead of the Biden-Harris Administration goal of getting 70 percent of Americans partially or fully vaccinated by July 4. Last week, Governor Roy Cooper announced a $4 million Summer Cash and College Tuition lottery, which will award $1 million prizes for four North Carolinians and $125,000 scholarships for four North Carolina students aged 12-17, to encourage and thank people across the state for getting vaccinated.

“We’re incredibly grateful to Administrator Regan for visiting Raleigh and Charlotte and helping to lead the effort to get more North Carolinians vaccinated. A sense of normalcy is beginning to return this summer thanks to President Biden’s leadership, but there’s still work to be done. It’s on all North Carolinians to do our part by getting vaccinated so we can defeat this virus for good,” said NCDP Chair Bobbie Richardson.

So far, 170 million Americans have already received the COVID-19 vaccine. In response to President Biden’s call to make it easier for Americans to get vaccinated, thousands of employers across the country are offering paid time off for employees to get the vaccine. Uber and Lyft are offering free rides to and from vaccination sites nationwide through July 4 to get more Americans vaccinated and our country back on track.
