CCDP Movie Night – April 2025

April 24 @ 6:30 pm

THE BRAINWASHING OF MY DAD movie poster

This month, we’re screening THE BRAINWASHING OF MY DAD by Jen Senko.

THE BRAINWASHING OF MY DAD pulls back the curtain on one of the most successful propaganda campaigns in American history—how right-wing media transformed not only the nation’s political landscape but the personality of one ordinary man. What began as a daughter’s quest to understand how her once easygoing, apolitical father became an angry right-wing devotee unearthed a far-reaching phenomenon affecting millions of families and friendships now fractured by right-wing radicalization. The film traces the intentional rise of a right-wing media machine—backed by libertarian billionaires, conservative think tanks, and political operatives—designed to manipulate public opinion, sow division, and shift the political center to the far right. With deep historical context and intimate storytelling, the film exposes the hidden forces behind the decades-long campaign to pave the way for oligarchic rule at the expense of democracy itself.

Come grab a bag of popcorn, watch the movie with us, and join in the discussion afterward. It’s sure to be an interesting evening.
